Laurel man allegedly downloaded sexual videos & pictures of juvenile victims from Dark Web

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Kevin Berry along with Lieut. Chris Edwards and Detective Kyle Gray arrested James M. Bargo age 29 of East Bernstadt on Thursday morning March 12, 2020 at approximately 10:39 AM.

The arrest occurred off US 25 approximately 2 miles north of London following an investigation conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff's office after a cell phone was found by an unnamed individual with several images of minors performing sexual acts.

Investigators located the suspect who owned the cell phone and learned that he had allegedly downloaded the videos and pictures from the dark web.

The juvenile victims in the videos and pictures appeared to range in age from six months to teenagers.

James M. Bargo was charged with:

  • Possession/viewing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor
  • Distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor – first offense

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
