Man arrested for Assault found with Meth by Jail Staff

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Kevin Berry along with Sgt. Brett Reeves arrested Michael L. Ball age 48 of London on Monday afternoon March 2, 2020 at approximately 12:43 PM.

The arrest occurred off Davenport Lane, approximately 7 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint at a residence there.

Upon arrival at the scene investigators learned that allegedly this individual had kicked a female subject there and locked her out of her residence.

When questioned by deputies, the suspect gave his brother's name and information. It was determined through investigation that this subject was wanted on three outstanding warrants.

Michael Ball was charged with:

  • Assault – 4th degree
  • Public intoxication – controlled substances
  • Criminal trespass – first-degree
  • Giving officer false identifying information
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Terroristic threatening – third-degree
  • Resisting arrest
  • Three outstanding Laurel County warrants

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

While being processed at the correctional center by staff there, this individual was found with Meth.

The sheriff’s office also charged him with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, 1st offense—Methamphetamine
  • Promoting Contraband 1st degree

Assisting on the case was Laurel Sheriff’s Bailiff Jacklyn Johnson.
