Drug arrests during investigation of suspiciously parked vehicle / Laurel County

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy James Fox arrested two individuals early Monday morning February 17, 2020 at approximately 2:54 AM.

The arrests occurred off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy. approximately 12 miles South of London following an investigation Deputy Fox conducted on a silver colored Chevrolet Suburban parked in a suspicious location behind a business there.

During the investigation the two individuals were found in possession of Methamphetamine. One of the individuals had an outstanding bench warrant of arrest.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

David Ronald Smith age 38 of Blossom Ridge Dr., Keavy charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine

Randy Allen Lester age 35 of Paris Karr Rd., Keavy charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
  • A Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on numerous violations

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
