Complaint Investigation leads to Arrest for PI, Menacing & Assault / Clay County

MANCHESTER, KY (February 5, 2020) - Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on February 5, 2020 at approximately 6:30 AM Clay County Chief Deputy Clifton Jones arrested Anthony Smith, 31 of Cane Branch.

The arrest occurred on South Highway 421 when Chief Deputy Jones was dispatched to a complaint of a male subject who was allegedly passed out inside a vehicle.

Upon arrival, Chief Deputy Jones made contact with the subject and through investigation it determined the subject was manifestly under the influence.

Prior to the arrival of Chief Deputy Jones, the subject assaulted a female victim. 

Anthony Smith was charged with:

• Public Intoxication of Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
• Menacing
• Assault 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) Minor Injury
