Whitley City, KY. - (January 01, 2020) – On December 31, 2019 around 6:48 PM The Kentucky State Police, London Post was notified by McCreary County 911 of vehicle versus pedestrian accident on US 27 and Wilborg Loop Road, in the Parkers Lake Community of McCreary County. The collision resulted in one fatality.
The initial investigation indicates that a 1993 Toyota Pickup operated by Mickey Tucker, was traveling southbound on US 27. The pedestrian Eric D. Wilson (42) of Whitley City was also walking southbound on US 27 in the lane of traffic. Due to the lighting and the clothing Tucker was unable to observe nor avoid Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the McCreary County Coroner's Office. An autopsy has not been requested at this time.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 11 Trooper Keegan Bray. He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 Personnel, McCreary County Sherriff's, Whitley City Fire Department and North Whitley Fire Department
