Two vehicle serious injury crash / Knox County

Knox Co crash 11 26 19 Hwy 225

Artemus, Ky. - The Knox County, Sheriff's Department is reporting that: On November 26, 2019 at approximately 8:00 A.M. Knox County Deputy Sam Mullins responded to a two vehicle traffic collision with injuries on Highway 225 at the junction of Coal Port Road in Artemus.

During his investigation, Deputy Mullins determined Unit 1, a 2016 red Jeep SUV, was traveling south on Highway 225 and Unit 2, a 2001 silver Jeep SUV, was traveling north on Highway 225 when they collided.

The driver of Unit 1 suffered minor injuries and was transported to Barbourville ARH by Knox EMS.

The driver of Unit 2 suffered serious injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle by members of the Artemus Fire Department.

She was transported to Barbourville ARH by Knox EMS, and later flown to UK Medical Center in Lexington.
The investigation is continuing by Deputy Mullins.
