DUI / Meth arrest in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky (Sept. 16, 2019) -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Allen Turner Along with Deputy Joey Robinson and Deputy Gary Mehiler and his K-9 “Edge” arrested Adam T. Edwards age 40 of East Bernstadt on Saturday night September 14, 2019 at approximately 7:52 PM.

Edge Meth Suspect

The arrest occurred on KY 490 approximately 5 miles north of London after Deputy Turner who was on routine patrol observed a blue colored Suzuki motorcycle pull out in a reckless manner. Deputy Turner then observed the vehicle weaving from the centerline to the fog line.

A traffic stop was conducted and an investigation conducted on its driver who was determined to be under the influence.

In addition, during the arrest and with the assistance of Deputy Gary Mehler and his K-9 “Edge”, the driver was found in possession of a baggie containing suspected Methamphetamine.

Adam Edwards was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Reckless driving
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
