KSP Appoints New Post 7 Commander

RICHMOND, Ky. (September 7, 2019) –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is now under the command of Captain Jeremy Hamm. Captain Hamm received his KSP commission in October of 2003 and was most recently appointed as the Post 7 commander on September 1, 2019.

Captain Hamm is a lifelong resident of Richmond, KY and most recently served as the Commander of Financial Grants Management at Headquarters in Frankfort, KY.  Captain Hamm began his career as a Trooper assigned to the Morehead KSP Post, and later transferred to the Richmond KSP Post where he worked as a Trooper and Detective. 

Upon promoting to Sergeant in 2014, Hamm was assigned to Internal Affairs before transferring to the Financial Grants Management Branch.

“I am very honored and excited to serve the residents where I was raised and currently live” says Captain Jeremy Hamm.  “I look forward to strengthening relationships with other police agencies, community leaders, civic organizations, schools, and citizens in the KSP Post 7 district.”

In addition to Captain Jeremy Hamm, the Richmond KSP Post welcomes two new Lieutenants and a new Sergeant.  The new additions to the KSP Post 7 supervision includes Lieutenant Jason Gabbard of Campton, Lieutenant Rodney Wren of Danville, and Sergeant Gregory Newman of Richmond.
