Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Rick Cloyd along with Deputy Taylor McDaniel investigated a two vehicle serious injury traffic crash which occurred on US 25 approximately 8 miles South of London on Wednesday afternoon August 28, 2019 at approximately 4:05 PM.
The investigating deputies report that apparently a black colored Toyota Corolla merging onto US 25 from American Greeting Card Road was struck by a silver colored Toyota Avalon that was traveling southbound on US 25.
After impact, the Toyota Corolla was knocked off the roadway. The Toyota Avalon came to rest in the center of the roadway.
- The driver of the Toyota Avalon was identified as: Stanley Woods age 64 of London – transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Baptist healthcare hospital for treatment of injuries.
- The driver of the Toyota Corolla was identified as: Jennifer Haws age 35 of London treated by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County at the scene and airlifted by PHI helicopter to UK Medical Center in Lexington for treatment of serious injuries.
Three children in the vehicle ages 14, 16, and 10 were transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Corbin Healthcare Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Assisting at the scene of the crash was Lily volunteer fire department, London Laurel rescue squad, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, PHI helicopter.
