Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Morgan arrested Ashley Cole age 35 of Paris Karr Road, Keavy on Wednesday night June 19, 2019 at approximately 10:52 PM.
The arrest occurred off North Florence Street approximately 10 miles South of London after this subject was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500 regarding an alleged theft observed on surveillance video at a business off West Cumberland Gap Parkway where allegedly a wallet was taken on June 16, 2019.
The surveillance photos were posted on the Sheriff’s office Facebook page and sent to area media.
Numerous tips were received that Ashley Cole was the individual in the pictures.
When Deputy Morgan was arresting this individual, he found 2 gift cards apparently belonging to the female victim and found the suspect in possession of a hypodermic needle.
Ashley Cole was charged with:
- Theft by unlawful taking under $500
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Corrections Center.
