Woman found passed out inside vehicle at a business in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt. Brett Reeves arrested Karen Lynn Moore age 44 of London on Friday morning June 14, 2019 at approximately 8:10 AM.

The arrest occurred off South Stewart Rd. approximately 11 miles South of London in a business parking lot after Sgt. Reeves was dispatched to a complaint of a female subject apparently passed out behind the driver wheel.

When Sgt. Reeves arrived at the scene he located a female subject passed out in a maroon colored Pontiac Grand Am and had to check her several times to awaken her.

Sgt. Reeves had EMS respond to the scene for assessment.

During the investigation the female subject stated she had used meth prior to driving to that business parking lot. The driver was determined to be under the influence and had a suspended operator’s license.

Karen Lynn Moore was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license
  • Failure to wear seatbelts
  • Failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Corrections Center.
