Clay County, Ky. -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that:  On March 22, 2019 Clay County Sheriff Deputy Tommy Houston along with CSO Wes Brumley arrested a man after numerous complaints of a pickup truck driving erratically.

Arrested was:

The arrest occurred at approximately 9:30 PM when Deputies received numerous complaints of a pickup truck on the Hal Roger's Parkway driving erratically.

While enroute to the complaint Clay County Dispatch notified Deputy Houston that the vehicle he was looking for was following the ex wife of the above mentioned subject.

Deputy Houston made contact with the vehicle and activated his emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop.

Once the above mentioned subject pulled over, he began to show aggressive behavior towards deputies.

When asked to step out of the truck due to having an active warrant and emergency protection order, during a pat down search of the subject he became aggressive towards deputies and attempted to pull a knife.

Once restrained, the subject showed signs of impairment.

Deputy Houston conducted standardized field sobriety tests and through total technicality of circumstances Deputy Houston determined the subject was under the influence.
