5 Drug Arrests at Complaint in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Kyle Gray along with Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards, Detective Bryon Lawson, Detective James Sizemore, Detective Daniel Grigsby, Capt. Kevin Berry, Sgt. Brett Reeves, Deputy Taylor McDaniel, and Deputy Gilbert Acciardo arrested five individuals on Thursday morning March 21, 2019 at approximately 10:57 AM at a residence off Dogwood Springs Drive, approximately 3 miles South of London.

The arrests occurred after deputies were dispatched to a possible drug activity complaint there.

When deputies arrived at the scene they located the individual who lived there -Cody Michael Blair-and learned that he had an outstanding warrant of arrest from another county.

This individual told deputies that no one else was in the residence however four other individuals were located inside the residence along with suspected Crystal Meth in liquid form in a syringe, numerous syringes located throughout the house, glass pipes with residue, a glass bong with residue, Marijuana grinders, and Marijuana.

In addition, a baby’s room with a crib, and children’s toys were located throughout the residence and deputies learned that Cody Michael Blair’s small juvenile children stay with him at this residence on occasion.

Deputies noted that drug paraphernalia (needles and pipes) was located throughout the residence in locations that a child could easily have contact with.

The five arrested individuals were identified as:

  • Cody Michael Blair age 30 of Dogwood Springs Dr., London charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; 8 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; wanton endangerment – second-degree; public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of marijuana. In addition, the subject was charged on a Simpson County warrant of arrest charging failure to appear regarding child support.
  • Heather Anne Philpot age 20 of Cherry Hill Rd., Lily charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; 8 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; wanton endangerment – second-degree; public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of marijuana.
  • Jamal Daniel Daoud age 24 of Wells Dr., Corbin charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; 8 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; wanton endangerment – second-degree; public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of marijuana.
  • Randy Lloyd Mullins age 23 of Cherry Hill Rd., Lily charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; 8 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; wanton endangerment – second-degree; public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of marijuana.
  • Jennifer Kay Riggs age 32 of Riggs Ln., London charged with 8 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • All five individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
