Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence arrest / Clay County

Clay County, Ky. -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that: On March 14th, 2019 at approximately 7:30 PM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Tommy Houston along with CSO Wes Brumley arrested an individual when Deputy Houston was investigating a complaint.

Arrested was:

Larry Collins age 29 of Add Hollow Road.

The arrest occurred on Paces Creek Road when Deputy Houston was investigating a complaint on Paces Creek Road when the above mentioned subject pulled into the residence where the deputies were.

The above mentioned subject showed signs of impairment, when Deputy Houston conducted field sobriety tests on the subject he determined the subject was operating the motor vehicle under the influence.

The driver stated to Deputy Houston he had smoked marijuana and taken pain medication prior to operating the motor vehicle.

When the drivers information was ran through Clay County 911, it came back the driver had a revoked or suspended driver status. The driver refused blood testing. 

Larry Collins was charged with:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle Under The Influence ALC/DRUGS/ETC. .08 2nd Offense
  • Failure to Register or Transfer a Motor Vehicle
  • Operating on Suspended/Revoked Operators License
