Traffic stop for One Head Light results in arrest / Clay County

Clay County, Ky. - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that:  On March 15, 2019 at approximately 1:50 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Brandon Edwards arrested an individual on North Highway 421.

Arrested was:

Jason Blevins age 33 of Keavy, Ky.

The arrest occurred on North Highway 421 when Deputy Edwards observed a vehicle travelling north on Highway 421 with one head light. Deputy Edwards initiated a traffic stop on the above mentioned subject, once contact was made with the driver and his information was ran through Clay County 911 it was determined the subject had a suspended operator’s license.

Deputy Edwards conducted standard field sobriety test on the driver, at which time Deputy Edwards determined the subject was operating the motor vehicle under the influence.

The driver was transported to AdventHealth Manchester where he refused to submit a blood test.

Jason Blevins was charged with:

  • One Headlight
  • Rear License not illuminated
  • License to be in Possession
  • Operating on Suspended/Revoked License
  • Failure to Produce Insurance Card
  • Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of ALC/DRUGS/ETC. .08 1st Offense
