Mother jailed in Laurel Co. on Wanton Endangerment charges

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Kyle Gray along with Deputy Jake Miller arrested Deborah Donette Huff age 36 of Annville, Kentucky on Monday evening March 11, 2019 at approximately 4:49 PM.

The arrest occurred off Riviera Lane, approximately 3 miles east of London after the Sheriff’s office responded to a complaint of a four-year-old male child that had showed up at a residence not his own.

When detectives and deputies arrived at the scene, the child was able to show officers where it’s residence was – 2/10 mile away.

An investigation was conducted where it was learned that the child’s mother had apparently smoked methamphetamine and used Suboxone.

In addition, this subject stated that her child had been missing at least 30 to 45 minutes and she had failed to notify law enforcement.

It was also learned that this subject had apparently driven her child and two other juvenile children while intoxicated. This individual was determined to be under the influence. Deborah Donette Huff was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment – second-degree; public intoxication – controlled substances.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
