Central Kentucky Nonprofit Focused on Improving Family Well-being Receives Large Grant from Kentucky Association of Health Plans to Create Eight-week Retreat Program
NICHOLASVILLE, KY – All God’s Children’s (AGC), a Nicholasville-based nonprofit specializing in foster care, day care, and counseling services, is the recipient of a $50,000 grant that will be used to launch an innovative, retreat-like therapeutic experience aimed at increasing the wellbeing of Kentuckians.
The grant was awarded by Kentucky Association of Health Plans (KAHP), the trade association representing Medicaid managed care organizations and commercial insurers in the Commonwealth.
“This initiative will invite individuals to see through their challenging life experiences and grow deeper in their identity so that they are able to courageously lead themselves into increased overall wellbeing,” said Kimberly Moynahan, (AGC) counseling director.
The grant will aid with the development of print and visual media curriculums, corresponding app/web development, as well as creating an optimal experience for the attendees.
“AGC is a huge asset to our region and is doing very important work guiding families in Central Kentucky to healthy and thriving marriages and family relationships,” said State Representative Matt Lockett who represents parts of Fayette and Jessamine Counties. “This grant is further recognition of that fact, and I am grateful to Kentucky’s health plans for their partnerships with local organizations that are making big impact.”
(AGC) is a nationally accredited, private, nonprofit that has been fighting for the wellbeing of families and children since 1999.
“Emotional and mental health is a major priority for health plans and AGC’s proposal ticked all the boxes for our grants committee,” said KAHP vice president of external affairs, Katherine Kington North. “Intensive programs like this one are lifechanging. The data is very persuasive. When we can keep families together, we build a stronger, healthier Kentucky.”
