Clay Co. Sheriff's Chief Deputy jails 2 for Illegal Possession of Legend Drug / Other charges

Clay County, Ky. - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that: On Tuesday March 5th, 2019 at approximately 8:45 PM Clay County Chief Deputy Clifton Jones initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle operating with one headlight. The vehicle was occupied by two individuals.

Arrested was:

Jennifer Gibson age 39 and John Wayne Smith age 51 of Saplin Fork Road.

Upon running the information of the female driver through Clay County 911 it was confirmed she had numerous warrants for her arrest out of Clay County District Court.

The passenger of the vehicle also had a warrant out for his arrest.

Upon consent to search the vehicle, Chief Deputy Jones located a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia inside the vehicle on the driver and passenger side along with on the person of the female driver.

Jennifer Gibson was charged with:

  • Clay County District Court Warrant of Arrest
  • Clay County District Court Warrant of Arrest
  • Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess
  • Illegal Possession of Legend Drug
  • John Wayne Smith was charged with:

  • Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess
  • Illegal Possession of Legend Drug
  • Clay County District Court Warrant of Arrest
