Complaint leads to arrest & Clay County DHS taking children into custody

Clay County, Ky. (February 8, 2019) -  Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that: Clay County Sheriff Deputies Cody Blackwell and Jeremy Gabbard arrested an individual at a residence in Clay County on February 8, 2019 at approximately 10:30 AM.

Arrested was:

James Emery age 30 of North Highway 421

The arrest occurred when Deputies were dispatched to a complaint of unsupervised small children playing next to the highway.

Upon arrival Deputies made contact with the above mentioned subject, he was asleep inside the residence and was unaware of the children being outside.

The living conditions inside the apartment was deemed unfit by Deputies.

Clay County DHS was notified and took in custody the 3 children.

James Emery age 30 was charged with:

  • Endangering the Welfare of a Minor (3 Counts)
