Subject charged on numerous outstanding warrants during complaint investigation / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. (February 7, 2019) -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Mehler along with Sgt. Greg Poynter, Deputy Travis Napier, and Deputy John Wright arrested an individual off McCarty Lane on Tuesday night February 5, 2019 at approximately 9:42 PM.

Arrested was:

Carter Glenn Sloan age 45 of Corbin

The arrest occurred off McCarty Lane, approximately 6 miles South of London while deputies were investigating a complaint there.

Carter Glenn Sloan was charged on numerous outstanding bench warrants and an arrest warrant including:

  • A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of driving on DUI suspended license – first offense and numerous other violations.
  • A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court for motion to revoke regarding charges of possession of a controlled substance – first offense – second-degree; possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A Laurel District Court warrant of arrest charging theft by failure to make required disposition of property-- allegedly failed to return home incarceration equipment.
  • A Floyd District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense.
  • A Knott District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear for arraignment regarding charges of operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license; failure to surrender revoked operator’s license; and numerous other violations.
  • This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
