Clay County, Ky. ( February 5, 2019 ) - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that: Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson was dispatched Tuesday morning on February 5, 2019 at 10.00 AM to the 9000 block of North Highway 421 to a two vehicle accident with injuries.
Upon arrival on scene Sheriff Patrick Robinson spoke with the driver of the Chrysler Van, she stated she had fell asleep while driving and crossed the north bound lane of traffic and struck a Jeep Wrangler head on. The drivers of both vehicles was transported by Clay County EMS to Advent Health.
The passenger of the Jeep Wrangler was pronounced deceased on scene by the Clay County Coroners Office.
Assisting at the scene was Manchester City Police Cheif Chris Fultz, Manchester City Assistant Police Cheif Jeff Collett, Manchester City Police Lieutenant Jason Combs, Burning Springs Fire Department, Lockards Creek Fire Department, Manchester Fire Department, Brightshade Fire Department, Clay County Coroner Office and Clay County EMS.
