Police in Clay County make drug arrest after an anonymous complaint

Clay County, Ky. (January 18, 2019) - Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that: Sheriff Deputy Tommy Houston along with Kentucky State Trooper Jordan Hopkins and Trooper Logan Gay arrested an individual and seized a large quantity of drug paraphernalia & other items off of Upper Radar Road on January 17, 2019 at approximately 10:30 PM.

Arrested was Floyd Dean Begley age 40 of Hyden, Ky.

The arrest occurred 5 miles west of Manchester off of Upper Radar Road. Upon receiving an anonymous complaint of a subject with drugs and several felony warrants at the above said location Clay County Sheriff Deputy Tommy Houston and Kentucky State Troopers Jordan Hopkins and Logan Gay made contact with Floyd Begley as he was attempting to exit the back to the residence. The subject gave consent to search the property.

Deputy Tommy Houston and Kentucky State Police Troopers Jordan Hopkins and Logan Gay found several thousand dollars of U.S. currency, illegal drugs, numerous credit cards belonging to other individuals and a large quantity of drug paraphernalia.

Floyd Begley was charged with:

  • Flagrant Non-Support Warrant of Arrest from Letcher County District Court
  • Flagrant Non-Support Warrant of Arrest Wolfe County District Court
  • Leslie County Circuit Court Indictment for Receiving Stolen Property under $10,000
  • Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree-1st offense
  • Know/Fraudulently use ID card or elect code for benefits
  • fraud use of credit card $500 < $10,000
  • Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess.
