3 Receiving Stolen Property charges & 1 Concealed Weapon charge / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Allen Turner along with Sgt. Greg Poynter, Deputy Jake Miller and his K-9 “ Edge”, Deputy Travis Napier, Deputy Josh Morgan, Deputy Rick Cloyd, and Deputy Gary Mehler arrested three individuals in a business parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy. approximately 9 miles South of London on Wednesday evening January 16, 2019 at approximately 5:00 PM.

The arrests occurred after information was developed on the location of a possible reported stolen black Dodge Challenger.

Deputies located the vehicle on the business parking lot and found three adult male subjects hiding in the store bathroom and learned that one of the individuals had been driving the reported stolen vehicle while the other two individuals were in a vehicle trailing along with the reported stolen vehicle. The key to the stolen vehicle was found in the restroom with the three males.

In addition, deputies found 2 firearms hidden in the vehicle – a Glock 40 caliber and a KAHR 9 mm.

The three arrested individuals were identified as:

  • The driver of reported stolen Dodge – Elijah Cohill age 29 of Indianapolis, Indiana - Charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more.
  • An individual in the trailing vehicle identified as: Christopher J. Rose age 27 of Indianapolis, Indiana - Charged with carrying a concealed weapon; receiving stolen property $10,000 or more.
  • Another individual in the trailing vehicle identified as: Anthony C. McGill age 26 of Indianapolis, Indiana - Charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more; carrying a concealed weapon.
  • All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
