KSP Investigation of Double Fatality Collision on Highway 15 in Wolfe County, KY

CAMPTON, KY (Friday, Jan. 3, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 received a call from Wolfe County Dispatch at approximately 10:59 a.m. requesting assistance with a double fatal collision on KY 15 South near Hunting Fork Road.

KSP Troopers along with Wolfe County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and launched an investigation.

It was determined that a White Ford Fusion operated by Carl Osborn, 39 years of age of Thornton, Kentucky was traveling northbound on KY 15 when he crossed the centerline into the southbound lane and into the path of a Chevrolet Express Van operated by David Lemus Castro, 37 years of age of Lexington, Kentucky. 

Both Mr. Osborn and Mr. Castro were pronounced deceased at the scene by Wolfe County Coroner Frank Porter. 

A passenger in the Express Van was transported by ambulance to Kentucky River Medical Center and later airlifted to UC Medical Center for Chemical Burns and remains in the hospital at this time. 

KSP was assisted on scene by Wolfe County Sheriff's Office, Wolfe County Fire and EMS and Wolfe County Coroner. The collision remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by Trooper Dakota Rasche.
