Complaint leads to arrest for trespass & outstanding warrants / Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Sgt. John Inman along with Deputy Allen Turner, Deputy Jake Miller, with assistance from Kentucky State Police arrested Jeffrey A. Whitis age 50 of McWhorter Road, London early Thursday morning December 20, 2018 at approximately 2:16 AM.

The arrest occurred off Johnny Moore Road approximately 4 miles east of London after law-enforcement was dispatched to a complaint of a male subject standing on a porch not his own knocking things over, staggering and trying to enter the residence.

When law-enforcement arrived at the scene they located the suspect on the porch staggering & mumbling and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.

In addition, this subject was found to have three outstanding warrants.

This individual was charged with criminal trespass – third-degree; public intoxication – controlled substances.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; failure to wear seatbelts.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense.

Also, this subject was charged on a Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; operating a motor vehicle under the influence; careless driving; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; license to be in possession; failure to signal.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
