MPD investigate social media post alleging gun threat regarding a Clay County School

Manchester, KY (December 14, 2018 - The Manchester Police Department is reporting that: On Thursday December 13, 2018, a social media post was made alleging a Clay County student was going to take a gun to school.

After many hours and many interviews with students, it was determined by MPD Officers there was no threat of a gun or a threat of shooting someone made.

The student made the threat of telling random people that they had better not come to school tomorrow.

The student has been removed from the high school and there is no threat.

MPD Chief Chris Fultz, Assistant Chief Patrick Robinson, Officer Chris Curry, and Officer Jeremy Garrison conducted the investigation with help from Clay County Superintendent William Sexton, Clay County High School Principal Mike Gregory and Safe Schools Coordinator Dr. Deann Allen.

Manchester Police DepartmentWe would like to let everyone know for any future incidents, please contact the police by simply calling 911 or school official to report any threats such as this before making a social media post.

Clay County 911 is open 24 hours a day, every day.
