Drug arrests off Hal Rogers Parkway near North Laurel High School

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Allen Turner arrested four individuals on Friday night September 14, 2018 at approximately 9:38 PM.

The arrests occurred off Hal Rogers Parkway in London near North Laurel High School after Deputy Turner observed a vehicle that failed to signal a turn and he  attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle – a green Jeep Grand Cherokee that traveled more than one quarter-mile before finally pulling off into North Laurel High School parking lot.

An investigation was conducted on the vehicle’s four occupants. During the investigation a back seat passenger later identified as Randolph Sizemore gave deputies false information numerous times before finally giving his correct identity. Deputies then learned there were numerous outstanding warrants on this individual and he was a parole violator.

Sizemore jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot nearly 100 yards where deputies briefly scuffled with the suspect before taking him into custody. During the arrest this subject yelled and cursed and created a disturbance near a football game that was being played with children nearby.

As the deputies continued their investigation they found all 4 occupants in the vehicle in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana.

The four individuals arrested were identified as:

  • The driver identified as : Megan N. House age 23 of Pine Top Rd., London charged with fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana.
  • A passenger identified as: Randolph F. Sizemore age 34 of Carton Ave., Barbourville charged with fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot; resisting arrest; disorderly conduct – second-degree; giving officer false identifying information; public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana. In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court. Also, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court. This subject was also charged on a Laurel district court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence and numerous other violations. This subject was also charged on a Kentucky parole board parole violation warrant charging absconding parole supervision and failure to report to parole officer as directed regarding a conviction in Laurel Circuit Court on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.
  • A passenger identified as: Cody Pruitt age 20 of Locust Grove Rd., Keavy charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana. In addition, this subject was charged on a Jefferson County District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana.
  • A passenger identified as: Wendy J. Hooker age 40 of Church St., Barbourville charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • All four individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

    Assisting on the arrests and investigation were Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Miller, Sgt. Robbie Grimes, Deputy Keith Dinsmore, Deputy Robert Reed, and London City Police.
