Sculpture and check donated to Laurel County Sheriff's Office

Laurel, County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: on Thursday afternoon August 16, 2018 a beautiful sculpture was presented to Laurel County Sheriff John Root and the staff of the Laurel County Sheriff's office as a show of support and appreciation.

The piece was sculpted by a Laurel County citizen who wishes to remain unnamed and is entitled "The Thin Blue Line". The base of the sculpture is a barrel lid from the East Bernstadt Cooperage and sitting atop the lid is a crystal globe adorned by blue LED lights. Surrounding the lid is a thin blue line symbolizing the unbroken circle of police officers who on a daily basis serve and protect.

The sculpture has been placed in a prominent location in the front office of the Laurel County Sheriff's Office and will be proudly displayed.

In addition, in recognition of the barrel lid manufactured at the East Bernstadt Cooperation used in the sculpture, Deborah Nantz representing the East Bernstadt Cooperage, donated a check for $500 to the Laurel County Sheriff's office to be presented to the Laurel County "Shop with a Cop" program.

Sheriff Root stated- "We sincerely appreciate the sculpture donation and its symbolic representation of a show of support to the men and women of the Laurel County Sheriff's Office. In addition, we sincerely appreciate the generous $500 donation to the Laurel County Shop with a Cop program---many Laurel County Children are reached annually by this program!"
