Fatal traffic crash / Laurel County

Laurel, Coumty, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards along with Deputy Travis Napier investigated a two vehicle single fatality traffic crash which occurred on US 25 approximately 5 miles south of London on Thursday evening August 2, 2018 at approximately 5:02 PM.

Investigating deputies report that apparently a red colored Mitsibihi 4 door was traveling northbound on US 25 when it attempted a left turn onto Fariston Road and collided with a blue colored Jeep 4 door that was traveling southbound on US 25.

  • The driver of the red Mitsibihi 4 door was identified as Jonathan L. Anderson age 38 of Williamsburg – Flown by PHI helicopter to UK Medical Center with very serious injuries.
  • The driver of the blue colored Jeep four-door was identified as Shonda K. Vanover age 43 of Corbin  Driven by personal vehicle to Baptist Healthcare Hospital for treatment of injuries.
  • Passenger number one in the front seat of the Jeep identified as Barbara A. Lisowe age 69 of Lily  Driven by personal vehicle to Baptist Healthcare Hospital for treatment of injuries.
  • Passenger number two in the rear seat of the vehicle of Jeep identified as Richard McFadden age 62 of Lily  Transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
  • Assisting at the scene of the crash was Laurel Sheriff's CSO Sean Hayre, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, Lily Volunteer Fire Department, London Laurel Rescue Squad, PHI helicopter, and the state highway department.

    Also assisting on the investigation was the Laurel County Coroner's Office.
