MANCHESTER, KY - The Clay County Sheriffs Office is reporting that: On Saturday, December 14th, 2024, at approximately 11:46 PM, Officer David Gibbs responded to a 911 hang-up call with screams heard in the background.
Upon arrival at the scene, Officer Gibbs made contact with a female, who reported that her husband’s mother had been assaulted by her son, Joshua Shaffer.
The victim was transported to AdventHealth Manchester for treatment of injuries, including a head wound and a broken wrist.
A search of the property initially failed to locate Mr. Shaffer. However, on Sunday, December 15th, Joshua J. Shaffer, age 35, of Manchester, KY was found and placed under arrest by Deputy Dustin Henson. The suspect was transported to the Clay County Detention Center for booking.
Joshua Shaffer was arrested for:
- ASSAULT, 2ND DEGREE - DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
