Man wanted on 3 warrants arrested for assault in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Sgt. John Inman along with Deputy Josh Scott and Deputy Josh Morgan arrested Charles R. Perkins age 34 of London on Wednesday night August 1st, 2018 at approximately 11:55 PM.

The arrest occurred off Robinson Creek Road, approximately 12 miles south London after deputies were dispatched to investigate a complaint that a male subject had allegedly stabbed a female subject in the neck with a fork.

When deputies arrived at the scene they contacted the female victim in the front yard of the residence and observed one stab wound from a fork in the victim's neck. The victim was not requesting medical treatment.

An investigation was conducted and it was learned that an unprovoked physical altercation had occurred inside the residence. The victim had fled outside the residence to call 911 following the assault. The victim advised that the assailant was under the influence.

Deputies arrested the suspect who was taken into custody following his non compliance to deputies commands.

Charles R. Perkins was charged with assault – second-degree; wanton endangerment – first-degree; resisting arrest; menacing. In addition, the subject was wanted on 3 Clark County and Boyd County bench warrants of arrest for failure to appear in court.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
