Stolen car / Drug arrests - Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Grigsby along with Deputy Shannon Jones and Deputy Josh Morgan arrested two individuals early Monday morning April 30, 2018 at approximately 4:17 AM.

The arrests occurred off West Cumberland Gap Parkway approximately 10 miles south of London after deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle near a business – a black colored 2018 Nissan Sentra.

When deputies checked the license plate on the vehicle, they learned it was a stolen license plate. An investigation conducted on the vehicle determined that it was a reported stolen vehicle stolen from a rental car company. Deputies also located two subjects in the vehicle in possession of suspected meth, and scales, pipes, baggies and US currency. One of the individuals in the vehicle had outstanding warrants of arrest.

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

  • The driver – Charles C. Davidson age 54 of Barbourville Kentucky charged with operating on suspended or revoked operators license; theft of motor vehicle registration plate; receiving stolen property $10,000 or more; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • The passenger in the vehicle – Tiffany P. Whitehead age 39 of Corbin charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more; theft of motor vehicle registration plate; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of resisting arrest. In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of public intoxication – controlled substances and giving officer false name or address.
  • These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
