Update: Death Investigation in Laurel County now a Murder Investigation

The home owner is classified as a Missing person/Person of interest and is considered Armed and Dangerous.

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that based on preliminary autopsy results, the deceased individual found off Hunters Trace on Tuesday afternoon March 20, 2018, was the victim of a homicide.

The manner of death will not be disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.

The deceased individual has not yet been positively identified, however, the investigation is continuing with additional testing being conducted to make that identification.

In addition, the Laurel County Sheriff's office continues to attempt to locate the home owner who is classified as a missing person and a person of interest to check his well-being and is identified as: Kenneth W. Lipscomb (pictured left) age 55 described as 5'4" 160 pounds, brown and gray balding short hair.

This individual could be driving a white colored 2011 Ford F–150 with a white camper shell attached with Kentucky license number 568MMM.

This individual could be driving some other vehicle possibly.

This individual should be considered armed and dangerous. If encountered, please contact law enforcement immediately.

Laurel County Sheriff's detectives continue to investigate this case.
