Two arrests following a traffic stop on US 25 by LSO deputies

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Rick Cloyd along with Deputy Travis Napier arrested two individuals on Wednesday night March 14, 2018 at approximately 9:18 PM.

The arrests occurred on US 25 approximately 7 miles south of London after deputies conducted a traffic stop for canceled registration plates on a black Chevrolet Tahoe and determined that the driver was driving on DUI suspended license.

Also a passenger in the vehicle was found to have an outstanding bench warrant.

The two individuals arrested were identified as:

  • Tasha P. Wernicke age 35 of Corbin charged with driving on DUI suspended license – first offense ; no registration plates; failure to wear seatbelts; failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance – first offense; and other violations.
  • Joshua L. Baker age 31 of Keavy charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant arrest charging failure to appear in court – injury accident involved regarding charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence and operating on suspended or revoked operators license.
  • These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
