MANCHESTER, KY - Chief Jeff Couch and the Manchester Police Department congratulates MPD K-9 Officer John Root for receiving the Governor's Impaired Driving Enforcement Award at the 2024 Governor’s Impaired Driving Enforcement Awards, recently held at the Campbell House in Lexington and hosted by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s (KYTC) Office of Highway Safety.
"We are proud of Officer Root and his dedication to saving lives by DUI enforcement in the City of Manchester and Clay County" said Chief Couch.
According to the KOHS, last year in Kentucky there were 4,324 total crashes involving an impaired driver, resulting in 2,085 injuries and 181 deaths.
