PSA - Programs offered by the Clay County Extension Office for February 2018



Manchester, KY - Clay County Cooperative Extension Service upcoming programs for February, 2018

Rolling Pins Homemaker Club will meet on Tuesday, February 6th at 6:00 pm at the EXCEL building.  Drucie Brown will teach us how to make Bert Lyttle’s famous “white frosting.”

Pesticide Training will be on Tuesday, February 13th at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm at the Clay County Extension Office.  If you need to renew your pesticide certification, please call the Extension Office at 598-2789 to let us know which time would be best for you.

Planning for Profit Series will be at 6:30 pm at the Annville Baptist Church, 126 Church Street, Annville, Kentucky 40402.  “Planning for the Next Generation of Landowners will be presented by W. Curtis Smallwood of Smallwood Legal, PLLC on February 19th.  “Can I Afford This?” will be presented by Kenny Burdine with University of Kentucky on February 26th.  “Minimizing the Tax Burden, Maximizing Tax Benefits” will be presented by Rick Brewer, Laurel County Deputy Judge Executive/Finance Officer & Catttleman, on March 5th.  For more information call the Clay County Extension Office at 606-598-2789, Jackson County Extension Office at 606-287-7693 or Laurel County Extension Office at 606-864-4167.

Rock Painting is February 22nd at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office.  The Garden Club and the Extension Office are co-sponsoring this class.  Learn how to paint the small rocks we are using for a county-wide activity.  We will also be using the rocks as part of our Just Get Moving Manchester activity later in the spring. Brain Development will be held February 27th at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office. We want to enhance brain health and protect it from harm.  As a parent have you ever wondered what happened to your child when they became an adolescent? Come learn how you can help yourself and your adolescent and understand the developmental changes taking place in the adolescent brain.  Free and open to the public but please call 598-2789 to register.  CAIP approved for those needing an educational requirement for cost share program.

Gardening Options (leader’s training) is February 28th at 10:00 am at the Extension Office.  You will learn about some gardening options you may have, if you don’t want to grow a large garden.  Our guest speaker will be Danielle Barrett.  Free and open to the public but you must call 598-2789 to register.
