Laurel County, KY - Laurel Sheriff John Root, Major Rodney VanZant, Capt. Chuck Johnson, Lieut. Greg Poynter, Sgt. Brett Reeves, Detective Jason Back, Detective James Sizemore, Detective Kyle Gray, Detective Chris Edwards, Deputy Bryon Lawson, and Deputy Brandon Broughton with assistance from Kentucky Probation and Parole developed information on possible drug activity and stolen property at a residence off Ky. 312 (Laurel Lake Road, North), approximately 7 miles west of London on Friday morning January 26, 2018 at approximately 11:40 AM.
Recovered stolen property included: A 4 wheeler, a pistol, and a large quantity of tools. The four wheeler was a 2002 Honda Foreman stolen from Barbourville investigated by Barbourville Police Department. The Glock model 19 pistol was stolen from Washington County, Indiana in 2017 .
In addition, deputies found a large amount of crystal meth, pills including oxycodone, Xanax, Suboxone, methadone and clonazepam along with paraphernalia including digital scales, plastic bags, baggies, and spoons. US currency was also recovered.
4 individuals were arrested on drug and stolen property charges.
There were numerous outstanding warrants for individuals there also.
Those arrested included:
Christopher Allen Cornett age 44 of Laurel Lake Road, North, London charged with two counts of conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense; trafficking in marijuana; three counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; six counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; receiving stolen property $10,000 or more.Michael Lee Loudermilk age 31 of Laurel Lake Road, North, London charged with conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance – first offense; and trafficking in marijuana; receiving stolen property $10,000 or more; a second charge of receiving stolen property $10,000 or more – allegedly this subject took 2 stolen chainsaws to a local pawn shop and pawned them. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest charging escape – second-degree – this subject was serving 270 days of a 360 day sentence when he removed his bracelet and left home. In addition this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on a motion to revoke probation regarding assault – fourth degree. In addition this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot and escape – third-degree. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of assault – fourth degree.Oscar Dwayne Martin age 46 of Martin Road, Pine Knot, Kentucky charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more; a Laurel circuit court indictment warrant charging flagrant nonsupport; a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating on suspended or revoked operators license; a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding contempt/hearing arrears owed $7170.92.
Zachery Ryan Polly age 24 of Oak Lawn Circle, Corbin charged with receiving stolen property $10,000 or more.
All 4 individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
