Serious injury crash - Laurel County school bus / pickup

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Keith Dinsmore along with Deputy Josh Scott investigated a two vehicle serious injury traffic crash which occurred on Ky 638 (McWhorter Road), approximately 2 miles east of London on Wednesday morning November 30, 2016 at approximately 8:47 AM.

The investigating deputies report that apparently a Laurel County school bus was eastbound on Ky. 638 when she lost control of the vehicle in a sharp curve on rain slick roadways – the vehicle slid around and the rear of the bus struck a westbound Ford pickup in the westbound Lane.

The bus was operated by Donna Morgan age 52 of London and had one female bus monitor and one 11-year-old student passenger – no injuries were reported, however, the student was taken to St. Joseph Hospital London for observation as a precaution.

The Ford pickup was driven by Doyle Hoskins age 69 of London and had one passenger Barbara Hoskins age 62 also of London – both had to be extricated by London Laurel Rescue squad and were transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of serious injuries.

Assisting at the scene of the crash was London Laurel Rescue squad; Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County; Laurel County Fire Department; and Laurel County school officials.
