Attorneys General Concerned for Safety and Well-Being of Children; Examining Potential Violations of Consumer Protection Laws

FRANKFORT, KY (November 18, 2021) – Attorney General Daniel Cameron today announced that he is co-leading a nationwide investigation into Meta Platforms, Inc., formerly known as Facebook, for providing and promoting its social media platform – Instagram – to children and young adults despite knowing that such use is associated with physical and mental health harms. Attorneys General across the country are examining whether the company violated state consumer protection laws and put the public at risk.

MANCHESTER, KY - Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, Sheriff K9 Deputy Wes Brumley along with Det. Jeff Kelsey and law enforcement personnel with surrounding agencies conducted high volume traffic stops and saturated problematic areas with law enforcement personnel.  During the course of the night units made numerous traffic stops, during the shift K9 Deputy Brumley arrested Kenneth Mickel, 44 of Cold Fork Road.

SOMERSET, KY - Sheriff Greg Speck is reporting that on Saturday, November 13, 2021, Deputies were dispatched to a storage building on Oak Hill Road. The caller reported a break-in of a storage building where one of the storage units had several items taken.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, OR (November 17, 2021) - The Oregon State Police is reporting that: It has been almost a week since Veterans Day, the day Oregon State Police Trooper John Jeffries was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle while protecting his community. During the past six days, Trooper Jeffries has been receiving excellent care from his medical team at Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center in Portland. As a result of the severity of John’s injuries, it will take additional time for his medical team to determine the extent of those injuries and his prognosis for recovery. 

MANCHESTER, KY (November, 17, 2021) - The  Clay County Sheriff's Office is reporting that: On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson, Chief Deputy Clifton Jones, Deputy Dewey Grubb, Deputy Trent Baker, Deputy Darrell Goins, Deputy Coty Arnold, Deputy Jerry Neeley and Deputy John Root arrested 22 individuals and executed a high number of arrest warrants inside the county on charges ranging from Warrants of Arrest to Indictment Warrants.

DESCHUTES COUNTY, OR - The Oregon State Police is reporting that: On Monday, November 15, 2021, at around 1:59 P.M., OSP responded to a crash on Highway 20 and Cooley Rd in Bend, Oregon.
