LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Carly Dorraugh arrested Betty Jo Tipton age 48 of London on Friday morning January 17, 2025 at approximately 8:40 AM.
The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off W. Laurel Rd., approximately 1/2 mile west of London after Deputy Dorraugh was dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a disturbance complaint there.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Dorraugh conducted an investigation and learned that allegedly Tipton had created a disturbance in a business and when told to leave continued to create a disturbance in the parking lot.
Following an investigation, Tipton was determined to be under the influence and it was also determined that she was wanted on two outstanding warrants.
Betty Jo Tipton was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
In addition this subject was charged on two Laurel District Court bench warrants of arrest charging:
- Contempt of court
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
