Wanted Suspect Found with Hypodermic Needle Loaded with Methamphetamine during Traffic Stop on a Moped in Kentucky

LONDON, KY (November 30, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed arrested Denise A. Moore age 46 of Victory Road, East Bernstadt on Friday evening November 27, 2020 at approximately 5:09 PM.

The arrest occurred on US 25 approximately 8 miles South of London after this subject was observed operating a moped on the roadway illegally.

A traffic stop was conducted and it was learned during the stop that this subject was driving on a DUI suspended license. In addition, it was learned that this subject was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

During the investigation this subject was found in possession of a loaded hypodermic needle which contained suspected Methamphetamine.

This subject told deputies the hypodermic needle had Insulin, however a field test was performed and it was determined to be Methamphetamine.

Denise moore was charged with:

  • Driving on a DUI suspended license – first offense
  • Nnumerous other registration and traffic violations
  • A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
