Female victim taken to a cemetery in Kentucky then allegedly assaulted and strangled by man threatening to kill her & himself

LONDON, KY (November 8, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Travis Napier along with K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Larry W. Turner age 34 of Cripple Creek Road, Williamsburg on Friday afternoon November 6, 2020 at approximately 2:35 PM.

The arrest occurred off North Stewart Road, approximately 10 miles South London after deputies were dispatched to a disturbance complaint at a residence there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies noted the doorway of the residence had been kicked in and a female subject there was observed having numerous injuries all over her body including her head, face, neck and arms.

Deputies learned through investigation that there had been a verbal dispute which led to a physical altercation and that the male subject had forced the female subject to leave the residence, driving her around the Tri-County area including a cemetery where allegedly the male subject assaulted and strangled the female victim numerous times threatening to kill her and himself.

Upon arrest the male suspect began yelling and cursing and creating a disturbance and had to be placed in the police cruiser.

Larry W. Turner was charged with:

  • Burglary second-degree
  • Assault 4th degree
  • Resisting arrest
  • Disorderly conduct – Second-degree
  • MenacingCriminal mischief Third-degree
  • Strangulation first-degree
  • Terroristic threatening – Third-degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
