Man that fled after allegedly assaulting a female captured on US 25 in Laurel County, Ky.

LONDON, KY (November, 7, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Dustin Saylor Along with Deputy Allen Turner arrested Jimmy D. Hartwell age 35 of London on Friday morning November 6, 2020 at approximately 9:50 AM.

The arrest occurred on US 25 in London following an investigation conducted by deputies at a reported disturbance complaint at a mobile home park off US 25 approximately 5 miles South of London.

Deputies had been dispatched to that location and learned while enroute that a male subject had allegedly struck a female subject in the face and had left in a green colored Jeep Cherokee.

Deputies traveled to numerous locations in the vicinity attempting to locate the suspect vehicle.

A short time later Deputy Saylor observed the suspect vehicle traveling south on US 25 and conducted a traffic stop where, following investigation the driver was identified as Jimmy Hartwell.

Hartwell was charged with:

assault – 4th   degree; operating a vehicle with expired operator's license.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
