Deputies Dispatched to Possible Injury Collision in Ky. Encounter a Disorderly Woman that Damages Police Cruiser & Assaults an Officer during Arrest

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Dylan Messer along with Deputy Travis Napier arrested Angel Calvina Tolan age 34 of Lebanon, KY on Saturday afternoon October 31, 2020 at approximately 3:46 PM.

The arrest occurred off Park Hills Road, ultimately 8 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a possible injury collision there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies made contact with the driver who could not produce proof of insurance.

During deputy’s investigation of the driver, the driver became very disorderly, cursing and jumping in front of the tow truck to prevent the tow truck from removing her vehicle.

In addition, this individual cursed and threatened pedestrians who were standing nearby.  Upon arrest this individual began kicking and headbutting the police cruiser's windows and glass.

Deputies noted during transport that this individual kicked the protective screen between the front and back of the police cruiser breaking it, knocking police equipment off and into the floor.

Upon arrival at the detention center while being escorted from the police cruiser into the detention center, this subject kicked one of the deputies.

Angel Tolan was charged with:

  • Disorderly conduct – Second-degree
  • Menacing
  • Resisting arrest
  • Criminal mischief – Third-degree
  • Assault – third-degree – Police officer is victim

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
