LONDON, KY - The London Police Department is reporting that: On Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, Officer Dillon Blair arrested Vernon Denney Jr. on an arrest warrant stemming from an investigation of the stolen London-Laurel County Rescue Squad Humvee.

At approximately 2:20 A.M., London-Laurel County 911 received a complaint of a military Humvee recklessly driving near Economy Inn on North Main Street. Officers arrived in the area of Economy Inn to discover the Hummer had already fled.

In the video, officers observed the Rescue Squad's Humvee as well as a male subject who exited the Humvee briefly at Economy Inn. Ofc. Blair recognized the male subject and identified him as Vernon Denney Jr.

Officers had dispatch notify surrounding agencies to be on the lookout for the stolen Humvee. At approximately 7:27 a.m., dispatch was notified by Pongo Fire Dept. that the stolen vehicle had been located in the Pongo area of Rockcastle County and requested to notify London Police. The Humvee was found on its side from a rollover, off the roadway.
