Trafficking Arrests off I-75 in Kentucky / Methamphetamine, Heroin & Marijuana Seized during Joint Investigation

LONDON, KY (October 27, 2020) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: The Laurel County Sheriff's Office along with Rockcastle County Sheriff's Office, Madison County Sheriff's Office ,Mount Vernon City Police and Kentucky State Police arrested two individuals after an investigation on a vehicle sitting on I-75 off the southbound lanes following a joint investigation conducted by area law enforcement agencies.

The arrests occurred after investigators there found two occupants allegedly headed to Laurel County, Ky. in possession of:

  • A large amount of Methamphetamine
  • Heroin
  • Marijuana
  • A digital scale

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

Damco Tyron Bell age 40 of Lexington, KY charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a controlled substance first-degree – first offense – Heroin
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of Marijuana

Kathy L. Moore age 43 of Nicholasville, KY charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

These two individuals were lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center.

Lead investigator for the Kentucky State Police was: Detective Tyler Morris, and lead investigators for the Laurel County Sheriff's office were: Sheriff's Deputy Landry Collett, and Sheriff's Detective James Sizemore.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root (left) stated that drug investigations and arrests will continue.
