Teenager arrested on Curry Branch Road in Clay County, Ky. charged with Murder in Lexington Homicide Investigation

LEXINGTON, KY (September 2, 2020) - Lexington Police have charged two people in connection with a murder that happened on Majestic View Walk.

Arrested was: Dalton Carpenter, 19 of Paris, Ky. and his girlfriend Jessica Hoskins, 18 of Cynthiana, Ky., both charged with Auto theft. Carpenter was also served with warrants for Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Hoskins lived at a home on Majestic View in Lexington where Officers responded to for a welfare check on Monday morning and discovered 56-year-old Sabel Jallow dead inside the home.

The investigation found that Hoskins and Carpenter were involved in an altercation with the victim.

Carpenter is accused of causing traumatic injuries to the victim, killing her.

The two suspects fled to Manchester, Kentucky, where they were found in possession of the victim’s vehicle.

These two individuals were arrested by Clay County Sheriff's Deputies and lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

Dalton Carpenter is charged with:

  • Auto theft
  • Murder
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence

Jessica Hoskins is charged with: 

  • Auto theft

Carpenter and Hoskins are currently lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

The Manchester Police Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Office assisted Lexington Police in this investigation.

NOTE: Lexington Police list Hoskins' age as 19 but the Clay County Detention Center shows her as being 18.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Majestic View Walk.

Around 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 31, officers responded to a residence on Majestic View where the 56-year-old female homeowner was found deceased. The circumstances surrounding the victim’s death are suspicious.

Investigators are currently following up on leads in this case and believe this was an isolated incident in which the victim possibly knew her attacker.

The victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
