Clay County Jailer Linda Smallwood

MANCHESTER, KY (August 31, 2020) - Clay County Jailer Linda Smallwood is reporting that: The Department of corrections has approved Work Release to do a limited amount of outside work detail. Policies and procedures are very restricted to make sure the COVID-19 virus does not enter the jail.

They are only allowed to go out with approved jail employees. If you see inmates out, do not approach them.

There will be weekly inspections done to make sure every protection policy is enforced.

I want to give a huge shout out to Adam Eversole, Chris Smith, and Jeff Jackson who supervised inmates in picking up approximately 4000 pounds of garbage from county roads last week.

Please take into consideration the beauty of your county and the inmates that are taking risk of picking up garbage putting themselves in danger because of snakes and being on roadways.

There are needles that are thrown out all over Clay County.

Please be considerate of others!!

Please help keep your county clean!!
