Fayette Co. man & Knox Co. woman arrested for Drug Trafficking at a motel in southeast Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Landry Collett along with Deputy Tommy Houston and Shift Sgt. John Inman arrested two individuals early Saturday morning August 8, 2020 at approximately 4:36 AM.

The arrests occurred off Adams Road at a motel there after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of possible drug activity coming from a room there..

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies conducted an investigation locating two individuals in a room in possession of:

  • Methamphetamine
  • Pill
  • US currency
  • Marijuana

The two arrested individuals were identified as:

William Kelly Searight age 43 of Florida St., Lexington, KY charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense Schedule one and two drugs
  • Trafficking in Marijuana first offense
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

April L. Messer age 37 of Valentine Branch Rd., Cannon, KY charged with:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine;
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – schedule one and two drugs
  • Trafficking in Marijuana – first offense
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – second offense

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
