Thomas Byrd, 86 of Sextons Creek, was born February 26th, 1927 passed away Friday July 19th, 2013, at the Owsley County Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Byrd, and these children: Douglas Byrd, Brenda Byrd, and Norma Byrd, all of Lily, and Gary Byrd and wife, Martha, of Corbin.
He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and his brother Eugene Byrd, of Sextons Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman & Leota Byrd, two sons: Jimmy Byrd and Larry Byrd, and the following brothers and sisters: Edgar Byrd, Oliver Byrd, Jesse Byrd, Junior Byrd, Delmus Byrd, Rebecca Allen, Mae Barrett, and Margaret Barrett.
Funeral services for Thomas Byrd will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Britton Funeral Home chapel with Bryan Collett and Landon McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in the Edwards Cemetery at Sextons Creek.
Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Britton Funeral Home.
